My passion for dough making began well before the pandemic. It was 2017 when I started experimenting with pizza at home—long before I had the right flour, tools, or technique. Trust me when I say, my partner and I still laugh about those early days. But I kept going, driven by something deeper.
My name is Mattia, I was born and raised in Italy, where food isn’t just nourishment—it’s our love language. I grew up surrounded by relatives who showed affection through home-cooked meals, passed-down recipes, and long, laughter-filled meals. The smell of freshly baked bread from the bakery downstairs, the clatter of pans in my parents’ kitchen—those memories shaped me. Cooking and eating have always been how I express creativity and bring people together.
Years of dough trials (and errors!) followed. Then in 2022, with a months-old baby at home, our social life naturally shifted. Going out for dinner with friends no longer worked for our new rhythm—so we brought the joy of gathering into our kitchen. Friday nights became sacred: pizza nights. Each week, I refined the dough and sauce just a little more. I developed a secret tomato sauce recipe that added depth, freshness, and just the right kick. Friends would come over, take that first bite, and say, “This is the best pizza I’ve ever had!”
And they meant it—not just because of the flavour, but because it felt light, digestible, and nourishing. The dough was airy and long-fermented, the toppings high quality and nutritious. Eating out at pizzerias just didn’t compare anymore.
It had always been a quiet dream of mine to work with food. And by late 2024, that dream finally took form in my heart—and soon after, in the world: Italian Secret was born. After months of research into the best equipment, working space, and ingredients, I created a way to bring our pizza to your table. A kit that makes it easy to enjoy proper Italian pizza—made with love, from the finest ingredients—fresh, hot, and ready in just five minutes.
My mission is simple: to bring people together over pizza that’s light, flavourful, and unforgettable. The kind of pizza that turns Friday nights into a tradition—just like it did for us.
